Hayfever – is an allergic
reaction to the pollen released from trees, grass and weeds and usually can start
from end Feb until end Aug/sept.
This year the ‘Pollen bomb’ has
hit us. This is a group of trees that has released millions of pollen particles
all at the same time! Also climate change, increased air pollution has caused
the season to start earlier and last longer.
Some absolute MUSTS
1. Check the pollen counts and be prepared
2. Sunglasses, apply balm under the nostrils
3. Keep windows shut, particularly at bedtime
4. Don’t dry clothes outside
5. Take an antihistamine – a wide range that will suit
your symptoms are available
6. Use eye drops and steroid nasal sprays to manage
topical symptoms
AND take Vitamin D. As we know Vit D plays a critical role in maintaining a healthy immune system and the correct levels will stop your body from overacting to an allergen. Speak to your Pharmacist.
